Our company specializes in producing photo frames, which are one of our main product offerings. Due to the different characteristics of photo frames made of various materials, their cleaning and maintenance methods also vary. Mastering the correct ways can prolong their service life and keep them looking good.
Daily Dusting: Gently wipe the frame's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using a wet cloth, as moisture can be absorbed by the wood and cause deformation.
Stain Removal: For minor stains, moisten a cloth with a small amount of clean water, then wring it out so it's damp but not wet. Wipe the stain gently, and immediately dry the area with a clean, dry cloth.
Avoid Using: Do not use corrosive liquids such as alcohol, gasoline, or strong detergents, as they may damage the paint or wax layer on the wood surface.
Moisture and Sun Protection: Avoid placing it in humid environments or in direct sunlight to prevent the wood from mildewing, cracking, or fading.
Regular Maintenance: Every 3-6 months, apply a small amount of wood wax oil or furniture maintenance wax to the surface of the solid wood frame to enhance the water resistance and gloss of the wood.
Prevent Collisions: Wooden frames are relatively fragile. Handle them with care when moving to avoid collisions with hard objects that may cause edge wear.
Daily Dusting: Use a dry cloth or soft brush to clean surface dust. Cotton swabs can be used to wipe the gaps.
Aluminum Alloy and Stainless Steel Frames: Wipe with a damp cloth dipped in neutral detergent. For stubborn stains, add a small amount of toothpaste, gently polish, and then wipe clean with a dry cloth.
Iron and Copper Frames: If there is slight rust, gently polish with fine sandpaper and then apply a thin layer of wax to prevent rust.
Avoid Using: Do not use acidic cleaners to avoid corroding the metal surface.
Moisture and Rust Prevention: Metal frames are prone to rust due to moisture, especially iron frames. Keep them away from humidifiers and water stains. Vaseline can be regularly applied to joints or rust-prone parts.
Prevent Scratches: Avoid contact with hard objects on the surface. Avoid friction when moving, and a soft cloth can be placed under the frame.
Daily Dusting: Use a dry cloth or feather duster to gently remove dust, which can accumulate and cause scratches.
For Glass Materials: Spray glass cleaner onto a cloth from a spray bottle, avoiding direct spraying onto the frame to prevent liquid from seeping into the photos. Wipe in one direction and then dry the area with a separate dry cloth.
For Acrylic Materials: Do not use glass cleaners. Instead, use clean water or a specialized acrylic cleaner along with a soft cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid rough fabrics, as they may scratch the material.
Scratch and Pressure Prevention: Glass is fragile, and acrylic is prone to scratches. Avoid collisions with hard objects. A non-slip pad can be placed under the frame when placing it.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Long-term direct sunlight may cause glass/acrylic to age and turn yellow, affecting transparency.
Daily Cleaning: Directly wipe with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, add a small amount of neutral detergent, wipe clean with water, and then air dry.
Notes: Avoid cleaning with hot water, as high temperatures may cause plastic deformation.
Keep Away from High Temperatures: Do not place them near radiators, air conditioning vents, or in direct sunlight to prevent plastic aging, fading, or deformation.
Avoid Squeezing: Plastic frames have poor toughness. Long-term pressure may cause the frame to break.
Through targeted cleaning and maintenance, photo frames can not only remain beautiful but also better preserve the memories they hold.
